Dr. O’Neill scientific career was spent at the Environmental Sciences Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He has presented invited lectures in England, Belgium, Sweden, Austria, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Venezuela and Israel. He has received a number of awards including the prestigious MacArthur Award from the Ecological Society of America. He retired from the Laboratory in 2001 but remains active as a consultant. Dr. O’Neill’s investigations into 15th Tarot history resulted in the publication of Tarot Symbolism in 1986, recently reprinted by the Association for Tarot Studies, Melbourne, Australia.
